Uživajte u jedinstvenoj večeri i zaplešite uz vruće afričke ritmove!

Gangbé Brass Band from Benin is being considered one of the most important African brass ensembles. More than twenty years after it’s foundation in 1994, band has gained international fame because of the quality and originality of their music. Recently it was awarded two prestigious awards: „The best African performer of traditionally inspired modern music“ at the All African Music Awards in Nigeria in November 2015, and the jury and audience award at the Carthage Musical Days in Tunisia in April 2016.

They blend the West African jùjú and traditional voodoo music with Western jazz and big band sounds. Their unusual instrumentation – trumpet, trombone, and tuba, along with West African percussion instruments and vocals – is part of West Africa’s colonial legacy.

Band’s goal was to promote original Beninese music through modern jazz expression. Having achieved that, they’ve imbued their musical tradition with Western sounds, thus linking the past with the future.

Enjoy this unique evening and dance to the hot African rhythms!
